6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The League of Women Voters offers instructions on how to conduct a voter registration drive, participate in one of the League's events, or train your group for their outreach activities. Hear about Election 2017 ballot issues so you can turn your voter registration outreach into voter education.

Thursday, August 24
Rally for the Right to Know

City Council Offices
250 Broadway
4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The Right To Know Act would help end abuses in a range of non-emergency police encounters by requiring officers to identify themselves and explain the reason for the official interaction.  It would also help end deceptive and unconstitutional searches by requiring officers to explicitly convey a person’s right to refuse a search when their consent is the only legal justification, and obtain objective proof that a person gave informed and voluntary consent. Hosted by NYC Democratic Socialists of America.
